Jason Aldean tour stays on ‘Wide Open’ road for fall concerts

Country musician Jason Aldean is traveling the nation this summer for a series of performances at festivals and other special events. But when the calendar flips from summer into fall, he’ll stay on the road for his own headline run of the nation’s arenas.

The next leg of Aldean’s Wide Open Tour kicks off September 10 at the Expo Center in Corbin, KY, and runs through a November 20 show at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA. The 25-date trek will feature Luke Bryan as a special guest in most cities, with Uncle Kracker also opening on a few select dates.  Full Story…

O.A.R. tour plots early fall concerts ahead of new album release

Jam band O.A.R. has extended plans for its current tour, adding a new leg of concert dates for the United States in early fall. The second leg of the national tour begins September 15 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL, and wraps October 9 at Fox Theater in Oakland, CA.

The 15-date addendum focuses primarily on Gulf Coast and West Coast markets, with a few forays into other regions of the United States. Booked performances include September 20 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA; September 25 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA; and October 6 at Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA.  Full Story…

U2 tour reschedules North American concerts for spring-summer 2011

U2 has officially rescheduled the North American tour leg that was postponed when band frontman Bono underwent emergency back surgery earlier this year. All markets on the 16-date itinerary have been preserved, though the routing’s city order has been slightly modified.

The first city on the 2011 tour is now Denver, which will host the opening concert on May 21 at Invesco Field. The previous launch-spot, Salt Lake City, is now the second destination on the map with a May 24 event at Rice-Eccles Stadium.  Full Story…

Rihanna tour cancels more ‘Last Girl on Earth’ concerts in the U.S.

Rihanna’s summer tour got off to a slow start when her opening show on July 2 was canned, delaying the tour’s launch until the July 4 show in Vancouver, BC. Now the Last Girl on Earth Tour, featuring support from pop party girl Ke$ha, has suffered more cuts from its calendar.

Trimmed from the schedule are shows on July 15 at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre in Englewood, CO; July 24 at Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX; July 28 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA; and August 3 at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, IN.  Full Story…

Dave Matthews Band tour to end 2010 season with Wrigley Field concerts

Dave Matthews Band plans to take a hiatus from touring in 2011, but the alternative jam band will end this season’s round of touring on a high note. Fronted by namesake musician Dave Matthews, the hard-touring group officially announced its plans to close its summer 2010 tour at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL.

The summer touring titan has scheduled back-to-back ballpark concerts on September 17-18 at the historic home of the Chicago Cubs. The shows will be DMB’s last before entering a year-long touring hiatus — it’s first major break from the road in 20 years.  Full Story…
