New Jersey court dismisses case against TicketNetwork and Orbitz over alleged ‘phantom tickets’

A New Jersey Superior Court judge recently dismissed a case filed by the state’s former Attorney General over the alleged sale of “phantom” Bruce Springsteen tickets in 2009.

TicketNetwork and Orbitz Worldwide’s Cheaptickets.com were accused of allegedly trying to sell Bruce Springsteen tickets before they were available to the public, and in some instances the tickets allegedly being sold were to seats that did not exist in the old Giants Stadium where the concerts were to take place last fall.  Full Story…

One of the principal brokers from National Events Company (NECO) was named in court documents last week as a client of accused ticket scammers Wiseguy Tickets, as federal prosecutors argued for the court not to suppress evidence they obtained from the broker.

Veteran New York ticket broker Michael Leshinsky was named in court documents as the person behind the AOL e-mail account “ticketwizard99@aol.com,” which federal prosecutors used a warrant to search as part of their investigation into the Wiseguys’ case.  Full Story…

Legal wrangling continues over documents in Action Seating / Olympic tickets case

The legal tussle between the now defunct Action Seating and unsuccessful Vancouver Olympics ticket supplier David Bunevacz continues as lawyers for the two argue over the type of documents Bunevacz was required to turn over last week.

The two sides signed court documents that required Bunevacz to supply information pertaining to the case, which allegedly involves nearly $3 million in payments from Action Seating to Bunevacz in exchange for thousands of Vancouver Olympics tickets.  Full Story…

Discovery information due August 3 in Action Seating / Vancouver Olympics tickets case

David Bunevacz, one of the central figures in the alleged Vancouver Winter Olympics tickets scam, has until August 3 to turn over key evidence in the case, according to recent documents filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court.

The information Bunevacz is expected to turn over to the court includes proof of who he allegedly dealt with to obtain the tickets and contracts with a Hong Kong-based financing company called Mocra Limited, which supposedly supplied some of the funding for the initial ticket purchase.  Full Story…

Counter motions go before judge in Action Seating / Vancouver Olympics tickets case

The two sides in the Action Seating Winter Olympics ticket case are scheduled to meet with a Los Angeles judge tomorrow, June 25, to begin arguments over the alleged $3 million fraud.
